This Privacy Policy explains how InteliAug ("InteliAug", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information when you use our enterprise AI assistant platform, our websites at inteliaug.com and app.inteliaug.com, and related services (together, the "Service"). We are committed to handling your data responsibly and in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Irish law.
1. Who we are
InteliAug provides a multi-tenant platform that turns your content — websites, documents, knowledge bases, and connected sources — into an AI assistant that answers questions on your behalf. For the purposes of GDPR, InteliAug is the data controller for personal data we process about our account holders and website visitors. Where our customers use the Service to process personal data within their own content, the customer is the controller and InteliAug acts as a data processor on their behalf.
InteliAug is operated from Headford Rd, Co. Galway, Ireland. You can reach us at info@inteliaug.com.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account & organisation data — name, email address, organisation name, role, and the credentials used to sign in.
- Billing data — subscription tier and billing status. Payments are processed by our payment provider (PayPal); we do not store full card or bank-account numbers.
- Content you ingest — website URLs, uploaded documents, and other material you connect so that your assistant can answer from it.
- Communications — messages you send to support and the conversations you have with the assistant.
Information we collect automatically
- Usage & analytics — queries made, features used, request counts, timestamps, and aggregate performance metrics.
- Device & log data — IP address, browser type, and similar technical information recorded for security, rate-limiting, and debugging.
- Cookies — essential cookies that keep you signed in and protect against cross-site request forgery (see Cookies).
Information from connected sources
When you connect a third-party account (for example an Instagram business or creator account), we receive data from that source with your authorisation, as described in Connected accounts & Instagram.
3. How we use information
- To provide, operate, and maintain the Service and your assistant.
- To ingest, index, and retrieve your content so the assistant can answer questions accurately.
- To authenticate you, secure accounts, enforce rate limits, and prevent abuse.
- To process subscriptions and billing through our payment provider.
- To send transactional messages (sign-up, password reset, service notices).
- To monitor, troubleshoot, and improve performance and reliability.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
4. Legal bases for processing (GDPR)
Where GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Contract — to provide the Service you have signed up for.
- Legitimate interests — to secure, maintain, and improve the Service, provided these interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Consent — where you connect an optional third-party source or otherwise opt in; you may withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation — to comply with applicable law.
5. Connected accounts & Instagram data
The Service lets you connect external sources so their content can
feed your assistant. When you connect an Instagram
business or creator account through Meta's official login, you
authorise InteliAug to access a limited set of data
(instagram_business_basic): your Instagram account's
basic profile (such as username and account ID) and your media
(such as captions and image URLs) needed to ingest that content
into your assistant.
- We request only the permissions needed to provide the feature and use the data solely to power your assistant.
- Access tokens issued by Meta are stored encrypted at rest and are never exposed to other tenants or to your end users.
- You can disconnect the source at any time from your control panel, which revokes our stored token and stops further ingestion.
- If you remove our app from your Instagram settings, Meta notifies us via a deauthorise callback and we delete the associated tokens.
- You may request deletion of data we ingested from a connected source by disconnecting it or by contacting info@inteliaug.com. We also honour Meta's data-deletion request mechanism.
Your use of Instagram data through the Service is also subject to Meta's Platform Terms and policies. We do not sell connected-source data or use it for advertising.
6. AI processing
To generate answers, the Service sends your query together with relevant excerpts of your own content to large-language-model (LLM) providers acting as our subprocessors. These providers process the data to return a response and, under our agreements, do not use it to train their general models. AI-generated output may be incomplete or inaccurate; you should verify important information before relying on it.
7. Service providers & subprocessors
We use carefully selected providers to operate the Service:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| LLM providers (e.g. Anthropic, OpenAI) | Generating assistant answers |
| Hetzner (EU, Germany) | Cloud hosting & data storage |
| PayPal | Subscription payments |
| Resend | Transactional email delivery |
| Meta Platforms | Instagram connector (only when you connect it) |
Each provider processes data only as needed to perform its function and under appropriate data-protection terms.
9. International data transfers
Our infrastructure is hosted in the European Union. Some subprocessors (such as certain LLM and payment providers) may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
10. Data retention
We retain personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete content, disconnect a source, or close your account, we delete or anonymise the associated data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.
11. Security
We protect data with encryption in transit (TLS) and encryption at rest for secrets and access tokens, strict per-tenant isolation, network controls, least-privilege access, and ongoing monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work continuously to safeguard your information.
12. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, and to restrict or object to certain processing. You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise these rights, contact info@inteliaug.com. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority; in Ireland this is the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).
14. Children
The Service is intended for businesses and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
16. Contact us
